Pay rate: $26.12- $31.50

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30 am- 4:00 pm

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Responsible for supervision of the employee leave of absence process and workers’ compensation self-insured program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises the employee leave of absence and workers’ compensation processes for the Agency.
• Supervises all New York State Disability claims, NYSPFL claims, long-term disability, no-fault, and supplemental short-term disability claims.
• Supervises the agency’s workers’ compensation program and exercises independent judgment in determining compensability of claims.
• Effectively communicates with employees regarding agency policies, their leave and expiration of their leave, supervisors, claims adjusters, medical providers, case managers, and legal counsel.
• Manages process related to work restrictions and transitional duty return to work program.
• Manages ADA process.
• Analyzes processes and procedures and suggests updated efficiencies.
• Manages the PTO buyback process.
• Complies with all Agency policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience.
• Excellent computer and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, and compliance requirements: NYS Workers’ Compensation/ Disability, ADA, FMLA, PFL and HIPAA.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLILITES:
• Responsible for the supervision and development of the coordinator, benefits and safety team.
