Description

In your role as a Class A Driver, you will be responsible for the following essential functions:

• Demonstrating a consistent, positive image of Ace Distributing, its executives, and employees, both within the Ace team and in partnering with customers and the public
• Performing daily inspections on all safety sensitive equipment (trucks, forklifts, electric jacks, etc.) to be utilized in preparing and/or the delivery or orders as per the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and the Department of Transportation regulations.
• Keeping work environment clean
• Operating all equipment in a safe and orderly fashion
• Reporting any accident, unsafe conditions, or injuries immediately
• Maintaining professional appearance with company supplied uniforms
• Delivering orders to customers in a prompt, professional and polite fashion
• Planning route to insure most economical use of time and equipment
• Provide a consistent, positive image of Ace Distributing, its executives and employees to both in-house and outside public.

Requirements

To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
• Ability to safely drive various vehicles
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License in accordance with insurance company requirements

Other important information to consider:

• Must be flexible to support a 24/7 operation, which may exceed a normal 8 hour workday.
• Must have the ability to plan, organize, and effectively motivate, lead, and manage people.
• This is a safety sensitive position, which means the employee’s job performance can affect the safety of the employee and others. Job performance under the influence of alcohol or drugs could lead to physical injury or death to the employee, other employees, or members of the public at large. Therefore, employee must be able to perform the job responsibilities without causing a threat to themselves, co-workers, to the workplace, or to the public at large.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Also, frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must be able to lift up to thirty pounds regularly; thirty five to fifty pounds frequently, one hundred seventy pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
