The City of Huntsville’s Natural Resources Department is seeking a qualified Natural Resources employee to fill our
Air Monitoring Specialist position.
Air Monitoring Specialist Position at a Glance:
This is professional level scientific work in an air pollution control program. Work involves assisting with the ambient air monitoring network by collecting air pollution control data and the operation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of ambient air monitoring equipment to ensure compliance with federal regulations and EPA guidelines.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Engineering or Scientific Discipline, or a related field from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and preferred two years' experience in environmental testing and pollution control.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Applicant selected must have or obtain certification in Visible Emission Observation - EPA Reference Method 9 within one (1) year of hire or promotion date.
