Meyer is looking for a Graphic Designer to Join our Team!

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the design and production of creative assets and brand collateral to support the marketing and sales of our products, while adhering to current branding strategies. Projects include: D2C marketing, emails, social media, web landing pages, banner advertising, brand launch packaging, catalogs, brochures, trade and consumer advertising, POP signage and displays.

Essential Job Duties

  • Process strategic direction from internal clients to create impactful and on-brand design solutions that meet the objectives of creative briefs
  • Steer projects from concept development through final execution
  • Design and produce deliverables for both digital and print, including:
    • Digital advertising, including static and animated executions
    • D2C emails
    • Brand launch pages, banners
    • Online enhanced content pages
    • .com brand pages for retailer partners' website
    • Social media campaign design, including campaign cover images and infographics
    • Packaging line extensions, brand launch concepts, and mockups
    • Print advertising
    • Brochures and catalogs
    • Event support materials, including handouts, booth graphics, and posters
    • Retail merchandising materials
    • Icons, infographics and illustrations
  • Utilize brand style guides to design creative that accurately represents our brands
  • Participation with art direction of photo shoots with a sensitivity for lifestyle imagery
  • Research and select stock photography
  • Manage assigned projects to meet required timelines; track time in an online project management system
  • Review print proofs to ensure quality and consistency
  • Pre-flight mechanical files and produce clean, print-ready documents
  • Maintain regular backups of work in progress; archive completed job files promptly
  • All other related duties as directed by the Graphic Design Manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience as a graphic designer
  • High-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac OS environment, with emphasis on Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
  • Familiarity working with Figma and Canva is a plus
  • Strong conceptual thinker; able to deliver multiple design solutions for a given project
  • Highly developed design aesthetic; awareness of current trends in design/color/typography
  • The ability to understand and internalize a brand, and translate it into effective marketing materials
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Google docs
  • Solid understanding of the printing process, pre-press proofing, and file requirements
  • Outstanding attention to detail while keeping larger goals in view
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks, keep track of and meet deadlines, adapt easily to quick turnarounds and shifting priorities
  • Excellent project management, organizational, time management, and analytical skills
  • A positive, professional attitude and a flexible demeanor that enriches the team dynamic
  • Advocate best design practices while meeting business goals
  • Willing to accept and incorporate direction and feedback
  • Comfortable working independently and able to collaborative successfully
  • Capable of communicating clearly and effectively in written and oral English
  • Possess the mental and physical capacities to perform the job duties

 

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily indoors. Lighting is artificial. Tools used include standard office equipment, i.e. computer, telephone, printer/copier; graphic design equipment, i.e. Apple computer, graphics printer, large format printer, cutting board, X-acto and matte knives. Physical demands include sitting, repetitive use of hands, fine dexterity, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling. Hours and days are primarily Monday through Friday, with some overtime and weekends required. Position requires close contact with all Meyer employees, outside vendors, and internal clients.
