Are you a natural networker with a flair for building commercial partnerships? LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, is on the lookout for a driven and dynamic Events Sponsorship Executive to spearhead the growth of our regional events portfolio across Wiltshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire.
This is a brand-new role with huge potential. You’ll be instrumental in expanding our events programme from one to four flagship events in the region – and if successful, there’s scope for even more growth. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a business development environment, is passionate about local business communities, and knows how to turn conversations into commercial success.
To be considered, you’ll need to live within the geography covered by the role and be comfortable travelling across the region to meet clients and attend events.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, approach, and secure sponsorship partners for a growing portfolio of regional events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, stakeholders, and community leaders.
- Work closely with the events and editorial teams to shape compelling sponsorship propositions.
- Deliver against revenue targets and KPIs, with a clear focus on ROI and long-term partnerships.
- Represent LOCALiQ at networking events, business expos, and client meetings across the region.
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline activity, sales performance, and market insights.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the events programme, bringing fresh ideas and commercial acumen.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in event sponsorship sales.
- Demonstrate previous experience in new business sales and acquire new clients
- A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Results-driven, target-focused, and motivated by revenue growth.
- Experience working within media or publishing environments is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong understanding of the local business landscape across Wiltshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own diary, and prioritise effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
