Job Description:

Under the guidance of the Director Network Development, the Manager Network Development will help determine Air Transat’s network — in other words, network strategies and types of aircraft to be used—by integrating different parameters, including market growth, the competition, the network’s economic, technical and operational constraints, slot constraints, connectivity goals, implement and improve processes, operational practices, and fleet sizing

Responsabilities

  • Help determine the strategy and development of the entire network to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor the competitive environment and changes in route profitability (revenue and costs).
  • Run diagnostics and provide route analysis.
  • Evaluate potential areas for growth, such as frequency, scheduling, and types of aircraft; suggest schedule scenarios based on demand and the competitive environment.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of future schedules.
  • Optimize schedules based on existing partnerships and assess the value of a future alliance or partnership agreement.
  • Prepare presentations when seeking approval for strategic decisions related to the network
  • Help make the connection between the current, network development and strategy teams.
  • Draw upon the expertise of the other departments (Revenue Management, Operations, Marketing, Commercial, Product, etc.) for development of flight schedules
  • Champion innovative approaches for procedures and modelling.
  • Help develop and set up the tools, processes, dashboards, and reports necessary for targets management.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in economics, mathematics, finance or optimization is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the airline industry
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize, and conceptualize
  • Results oriented mindset and strong work ethic
  • Understanding of the importance of the collective interest, team player
  • Self-confidence and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Sense of conviction and initiative
  • Penchant for innovation
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and statistical tools
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and French
  • Ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment
Additional Information:

*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
