Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Site Director Operations / Director of Nursing (DON) to join the Kilmore District Hospital.

 

About Northern Health:

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

 

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

 

About the Role:

This role requires highly motivated nursing leadership, strategic thinking, collaborative approach to service delivery.

 

This role is responsible for the daily operations, service delivery and professional nursing issues and governance at Kilmore District Hospital. The role works collaboratively with the Medical and Nursing Divisional Directors to set the direction, and strategic planning to enhance and improve the operations of the services to deliver optimum patient care, within the overall strategic direction of Northern Health for the community.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience and good working knowledge of access and flow for acute and sub-acute services
  • Proven ability to lead teams with a focus on service planning and nursing leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt strategic approach to managing complex and challenging operational issues
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Understanding of Aged Quality Standards and associated schemes within the Commonwealth Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Post Graduate Qualifications in management, business, public health or working towards same
  • Registered Nurse with minimum 5 years' experience in management as NUM, Team Leader, and/or Director Operations role or equivalent is essential
  • Current AHPRA Registration
