Position Duties
This position serves the primary purpose of oversight of staff who are ensuring safety and wellbeing of children (birth-21 years old) in Forsyth County who have been adjudicated to be abused, neglected, or dependent juveniles.
Minimum Qualifications
SKILLS NEEDED:
Requires excellent organizational, planning, and documentation skills for managing logistics, routes, and schedules. This position requires skills in coaching, training, and directing the work of others. Requires assessment of work performance on an ongoing basis.
Other Qualifications
The selected candidate will facilitate transportation services for children in custody for therapy and/or supervised visitation. This position will ensure child(ren) are visiting in a safe environment by scheduling transportation services to the Department’s location for the parent/child interactions to be supervised. Participation in Child and Family Team meetings and Permanency Planning Review meetings may be required. This position is also responsible for the facilitation of transportation services for vulnerable adults involved with Adult Protective Services. The selected candidate will ensure the adults involved with Adult Protective Services are provided transportation services for appointments or other activities. Collaboration and communication with social workers, social work supervisors, and other case involved parties is required. The Social Work Supervisor could be asked to testify in court. Transporting children and adults on the unit’s caseload may be required, as needed. Other duties as directed.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reviews program objectives and service delivery needs with staff and formulates specific goals and objectives for the assigned program area;
- Assigns cases to staff and maintains workload balance, makes changes in work procedures to meet program demands, and presents recommendations to management on issues which impact programmatic goals, objectives, and policies;
- Provides limited input in the development, justification, or allocation of funds and may manage a small unit budget necessary for staff administrative expenditures;
- Provides oversight of funding reimbursement, including but not limited to Medicaid Administration (MAC) funding;
- Provides on the job training for staff and makes arrangements for staff to receive formal training when offered;
- Ensures that policies, rules, and regulations are followed;
- Monitors the work of subordinate staff through case reviews, conferences, and informal discussions to ensure compliance with operational standards and established federal and state policies, statutes, and protocols;
- Requires management of logistics, routes, and schedules for transportation staff. This position requires skills in coaching, training, and directing the work of others.
- Work in collaboration with social workers and supervisors to ensure the Department’s objectives are met.
