The Work
As a Safety and Health Engineer with Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), your role is pivotal in ensuring a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. Your responsibilities will encompass both operational and strategic aspects of the site's Safety and Health programs and the Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) management system. You will also play a crucial role in supporting teams engaged across RMS.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive environmental, safety and health services to maintain a secure and compliant workplace for all health and safety related programs.
• Other focus areas for areas may include Confined Spaces, Contractor Safety, Cranes & Slings, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, Ladder Safety, Machine Guarding, Aerial lifts, Powered Industrial Trucks, Raised Platforms & Scaffolding, and Lockout/Tagout.
• Represent the organization at various levels, effectively conveying the company's strategy and objectives.

Who You Are
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree.
• The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in one or more of these areas: Safety and Health as it relates to the standards, testing and coordination of events for Occupational Safety
• Possess relevant certifications and training in safety and environmental management.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience in the specified areas of safety.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Collaborative and able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Basic Qualifications
3-5 years minimum of professional experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience with interpreting OSHA regulations, ANSI & NFPA standards, and other associated compliance programs.
Experience making difficult decisions, solve complex issues and influence ESH cultural improvement.
U.S Citizenship Required.
Desired skills
Knowledge of and experience with electrical, arc flash hazards mitigations and lockout tagout.
Knowledge of electrical standards such as NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, Underwriters Laboratories.
Knowledge of and experience with Machine Guarding, Forklifts, Contractor Safety Management, robotic standards and robotic applications.
Experience interfacing with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
Knowledge of and experience with ESH management system elements.
Experience authoring command media and program documentation.
