We are now looking for a
Export Control Manager
to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the location for the position is in Porriño, Spain.
What you will be doing
We are looking for an Export Control Manager to join our forward-looking Sales Support team for ensuring quality and speed of response for continued high quality customer service.
As Export Control Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Ensures adherence to regulations, standards and policies by executing compliance activities for Commercial, Industrial and Navy businesses.
- Knowledge and experience in the creation and review of different type of sales and procurement agreements and contracts
- Executes compliance activities, processes and plans, interpreting, applying and ensuring adherence to regulations, policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure organizational compliance and integrity within their responsibility area.
- Develops and provides compliance-related deliverables and materials within their area of responsibility, including compliance documentation, training materials, and reports.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective compliance operations, to share knowledge on compliance expectations, to raise and solve compliance issues, and to ensure consistent application of compliance standards.
- Analyses data, monitors compliance outcomes, and produces reports to drive effectiveness and continuous improvement.
- Proactive team member, planning and leading small projects or work groups and guiding less experienced colleagues.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of compliance best practices, providing advice and guidance to the organization. Monitors regulatory developments and advises on necessary actions to maintain compliance and manage risks.
- Supports the design and execution of compliance projects and initiatives.
- Contributes to the development and refinement of compliance processes, practices, and systems, contributing to the continuous improvement in compliance activities.
- Monitors and reviews stakeholder compliance performance, actively providing guidance and feedback to enhance compliance practices.
- Addresses problems requiring interpretation of established compliance processes and guidelines. Contributes to process improvements.
- Maintains and develops expertise in compliance, becoming a go-to source for up-to-date information and guidance.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A law degree and minimum of 5 years of experience either as a practicing attorney or in-house counsel or trade compliance.
- Ability to see the big picture and agility in work methods
- Ability to work under time pressure
- Excellent influencing skills – ability to translate legal matters into business language, coupled with strategic thinking
- Excellent stakeholder management skills: ability to navigate in a large organisation and to align the interests of different stakeholders to find optimal solutions for issues at hand.
- Appreciates diversity and builds psychological safety and inclusion to the team/organisation
- Has a continuous improvement mindset and ability to coach people to grow and learn.
- Accountable for the delivery of specific compliance tasks and processes such as compliance policy setting, monitoring, policy enforcement, and compliance reporting, being accountable for quality, accuracy, and efficiency of own output and impacting organizational compliance outcomes.
- Good written and spoken English language skills.
In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
