The Role

As a Software Engineering Technical Specialist, you will develop solutions in specific domains such as Security, Systems, Databases, Networking Solutions, and more. You will be a leader – contributing knowledge, guidance, technical expertise, and team leadership skills. Your leadership will be demonstrated in your work, to your customers, and within your teams.

You’ll be the go-to person for problem-solving of customers’ business and technical issues. You have a knack for effectively identifying and framing problems, leading the collection of elements of information, and integrating this information to produce timely and thoughtful decisions. Your aim throughout, is to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and delivery of services through the use of technology and technical methods and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end technical strategy and architecture of financial systems such as [e.g., BlackLine].

  • Collaborate closely with Finance stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Provide technical leadership across implementation, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.

  • Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and performance standards.

  • Partner with developers, architects, and external vendors to manage customizations, data flows, and middleware integrations.

  • Monitor system health, conduct root cause analysis, and drive resolution of critical issues.

  • Oversee release management, change control, and user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.

  • Manage application roadmaps, budgeting for upgrades or new tools, and alignment with enterprise architecture.

  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, interfaces, and integrations.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies to optimize financial systems and business processes

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience managing or developing financial systems and applications.

  • Deep understanding of accounting, finance, or FP&A processes.

  • Experience with at least one major financial ERP platform (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).

  • Strong knowledge of systems architecture, APIs, integrations, and data governance.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives and resolving complex technical challenges.

  • Experience with SOX, GDPR, or other compliance frameworks.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.

  • Clear, concise communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
