The Senior Consultant, DEIR Learning & Program Engagement leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of DEIR initiatives across Vancity, primarily focused on learning and engagement. While partnering with the learning team to integrate DEIR into training and development, this role will focus on supporting ERGs, amplifying their voices through newsletters and other engagement channels, managing new DEIR initiatives and projects, and supporting communications for current DEIR Programs. The successful candidate will be a strategic communicator, skilled project manager, innovative learning integrator, and equity champion with the ability to bring people along on the change journey.
This is a 12-month contract role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland-based home office. This role may require you to work on-site up to 2 times a week.
A Typical Day Would Involve
- Coordinate and deliver learning and engagement experiences (virtual and in-person) that build awareness, skills, and accountability across the organization, integrating creative learning approaches such as microlearning, storytelling, and human-centred design.
- Support learning content development across six key areas: Accessibility, Anti-Racism, Reconciliation, Financial Inclusion, Gender Equity, and 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusion.
- Develop and track metrics and evaluation tools to assess engagement effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
- Maintain and enhance SharePoint and Staffbase content to scale DEIR resources and amplify the voices of ERGs through newsletters and digital channels.
- Provide coaching and thought leadership to internal leaders and external partners on embedding equity and inclusion.
- Partner with the learning team to weave DEIR practices into core programs, reinforcing equity as a driver of culture and performance.
- Guide and support Employee Resource Group Chairs and Sponsors to align activities with strategy, strengthen leadership capacity, and foster belonging.
- Collaborate on communications and initiatives that elevate DEIR visibility, including projects such as Indigenous procurement strategies, accessibility audits, and external equity commitments.
- Work with the Workplace Inclusion (WIN) team and other cross-functional partners to strengthen Vancity’s DEIR impact.
You Have
- A degree or diploma in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and lived/professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in learning or program engagement, with demonstrated knowledge of DEIR principles.
- Experience supporting or coordinating Employee Resource Groups, affinity networks, or grassroots engagement programs.
- Experience designing or integrating learning methodologies (e.g., microlearning, storytelling, adult learning principles) into programs and engagement campaigns.
- Experience developing and implementing internal engagement strategies and using communication tools, like staffbase.
- Demonstrated project management expertise and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong ability to measure and communicate learning outcomes with data and insights.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and knowledge-sharing systems (e.g., SharePoint).
- Exceptional facilitation, coaching, and communication skills that resonate across diverse audiences.
- Deep knowledge of accessibility standards, Indigenous reconciliation, anti-racism, and equity frameworks.

The salary range for this role is $86,000 to $129,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
