Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Associate's Degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 – 4 years of self-pay billing and/or collections experience with a hospital, professional office, or healthcare vendor. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a multi-entity system with EPIC. Experience with Medicaid Eligibility and Financial Assistance Programs.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: HBI Patient Financial Services Certified is preferred, but not required.
Language Skills: English, Spanish and/or Polish
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
Maintains thorough knowledge of State and Federal laws and HHC policies regarding Financial Assistance and Self-Pay Collections.
Models teamwork through cooperation and collaboration within and outside the work group.
Ability to work in a high volume setting with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficient in the use of a computer.
Critical thinking skills.
Ability to attain productivity and quality standards per department requirements
