What You’ll Do as Assistant Director of Nursing:
- Lead the nursing team practices and objective sthat will provide a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity standards, goal attainment, and client-centered system of care.
- Guide, monitor, and assist medical and nursing staff in providing quality, sufficient care for all BCCS clients.
- Participate in the development and organizational adherence to the fiscal budget and performance improvement
- Create, implement, and maintain an orientation program for nursing/medical staff and ongoing training programs as it relates to job duties
- Plan, develop, and implement new projects or health programs for the various populations and communities served by Brandywine Counseling (such as improve access to personal health care and education for high- risk individuals).
- Form relationships with nursing schools and identifies ways to enhance recruitment of nursing staff.
- Provide direction to supervise and evaluate via day-to-day observation and annual staff performance reviews, when necessary and justified, work-related counseling, administer disciplinary action, hire, terminate, and address grievances of clinical services area for staff, including nursing supervisors
- Establishes and review department-wide nursing performance measures and outcomes to improve nursing performance and outcomes. Manage programs' performance against agreed targets and budgets, and within policies and standards.
- Create, implement, and maintain/monitor written standards for nursing policies and procedures based on standards set by all governing bodies (state, federal, licensure, contracts, and Joint Commission- Medication Management, input into Infection Prevention and Control, Life Safety, Waived Testing) in all sites. Review, at random and as required by licensing and accreditation standards, case records and take appropriate action when deficiencies are identified
- Create, plan, and implement the results of organizational assessments (client satisfaction surveys) that focus on nursing/medical services.
- Collaborate with senior management, program managers, staff, clients, and community groups to identify and solve issues requiring nursing expertise
- Review and analyze proposed legislation pertaining to nursing for potential impacts to the department; prepares and required reports, and, or plans; advises other organization executives and managers of appropriate action.
- Promote staff morale
- Develop, implement, and update written quality management strategy and plans, including resources, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to and integrate within, the organization’s annual business plan and long-term strategy, as needed but not less than once a year
- Perform other related duties as assigned by CEO, Director of Nursing, or the Medical Director. The ADON may assume additional related responsibilities, such as dosing, during times of staff shortages and operational needs.

- Monday – Friday
- 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. with flexibility
Location:
- The Assistant Director of Nursing will work out of our Georgetown, Dover, and Milford locations
Qualifications:
- REQUIRED: Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Delaware
- REQUIRED: 5 years of drug and alcohol chemical dependency nursing experience
- REQUIRED: 2 years supervisory experience
- REQUIRED: Associate in Nursing
