We have the following position at our Fontana Hauling division:
Truck Body Painter and Repair
Under general supervision, the Truck Body Painter and Repair will complete painting and repairs for the trucks.
SALARY RANGE: $26.00 - $29.40/hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by degreasing, cleaning with a pressure washer, and stripping existing coatings using sandblasters, grinders, electric, or air-powered sanders.
- Precisely mask and tape vehicles and other surfaces to protect areas from paint and overspray.
- Apply coatings using various equipment, including pressure pots, gravity guns, and touch-up guns, ensuring a high-quality finish.
- Mix single-stage coatings and other products to manufacturer specifications, with experience in brands like Axalta Imron, Sherwin Williams etc.
- Apply body filler and fiberglass as needed to repair minor damage and prepare surfaces before painting.
- Inspect vehicles to determine if they require a full paint job or touch-up work, then develop and execute a completion schedule.
- Review decals on trucks to identify missing or damaged decals and replace them as needed.
- Perform color matching for touch-up work to ensure consistency across the fleet.
- Inspect finished work to ensure it meets high-quality standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Be experienced and knowledgeable on all paints and materials.
- Be proficient with MIG Welding
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year of experience performing MIG Welding and painting vehicles/trucks, required
PHYSICAL:
- This description requires that the individual walk, sit, stand, touch, stoop, lift and climb or move heavy objects up to 75lbs.
- Must be able to work extended hours inside paint booth
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will be exposed to outdoor weather heat, cold, rain, wind, and will be exposed to moderate levels of noise and dust.
