The Opportunity with McKinstry

Our HR team is growing! To help us scale, we're expanding our HR function and hiring a Director, Labor Relations Partnership in Seattle, WA. This new position will be responsible for leading HR labor support activities encompassing the entire union workforce. We're looking for driver and an influencer - someone who thrives on partnering across teams and with senior leaders to make decisions and enable our business. In this role you will:

  • Serve as trusted and strategic business advisor and primary HR contact for key leaders associated with the represented workforce.

  • Provide input/influence to help shape HR programs, practices and policies pertaining to the represented workforce.

  • Collaborate with the General Counsel as a member of the Labor Relations Committee in bringing relevant topics to the meetings.

  • Oversee investigations pertaining to working conditions and disciplinary actions and recommend final resolution (in consultation SVP, Operations and Human Resources).

  • Stay abreast of all Collective Bargaining Agreements and ensure compliance within scope of job (which might expand).

  • May play a role in the oversight, execution, administration, and performance of Collective Bargaining Agreements

 

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Ability to think strategically at the senior level.

  • Ability to collaborate with and provide advice to executive leadership.

  • Ability to drive change.

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and labor laws/regulations.

  • Experience in a union environment, especially within the construction trades.

  • Well organized and ability to maintain records with high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment.

  • Ability to collaborate and influence others to reach resolution.

The pay range for this position is $140,300 - $211.900 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
