JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Specialist II plays a key role supporting outbound international shipments to customers, and providing back up support on inbound shipments to SPX Flow, dedicated domestic shipments, and related information. Key performance indicators include safety, efficiency, and compliance within the team structure. This role primarily corresponds with external freight forwarders and providers and internal team members from customer service and shipping.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates primarily outbound logistical operations, supports inbound as a back up.
- Tactical execution and facilitation of on time customer shipments as defined on the sales order.
- Contribute to team effort to meet logistics team key performance indicators.
- Problem solve internal or customer concerns related to logistics. Support and documentation of process improvements as required.
- Provides tactical support to internal teams, including export, purchasing and warehouse.
- Maintain and update SAP as required.
- Identify and assess potential risks within the logistics process and implement measures to mitigate those risks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures within SPX Flow.
- Provide back up support for Freight Payment administration via Cass.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date templates and records of compliance documentation.
- Learn and maintain all Export Compliance requirements
- Process AES submittals as required for exports.
- Complete Origin certificates when requested by customers.
- Follow up with freight forwarders and carriers to ensure that proper documentation is received back to meet export requirements.
- Create and maintain document files for order documentation and store appropriately to ensure compliance with export requirements.
- Analyze and process export licensing through the US Government Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) web systems where applicable.
- Act as a liaison between SPX Corporate Export Compliance, the Bureau of Industry and Security, and local site management, where applicable.
- Schedule and coordinate outgoing customer shipments through external transportation lines.
- Follow up with customers for shipment release authorizations.
- Request and verify freight quotations for shipments.
- Create Bills of Lading for outgoing shipments
- Maintain customer contact for final shipping arrangements, as needed.
- Confirm shipments for the creation of commercial invoices by shared services and administer associated procedures in the SAP Operating Business System.
- Provide proof of delivery tracking and follow up per customer request.
- Perform systematic shipping data updates in SAP for shipping/tracking information.
- Supports safety and quality goals throughout the facility.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Strong understanding of transportation, warehousing, and supply chain management.
- Well-versed in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards and resources.
- Experience conducting audits, assessing risks, and identifying potential issues.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify problems, and develop solutions is key. Candidates with Power BI and advanced Excel skills would be preferred.
- Prior use of a third party freight payable company is preferred.
