Customer Service:

  • Displays a mature, responsible, and compassionate demeanor while exemplifying and providing excellent customer service.
  • Assist customers with product questions and locating products in a prompt, courteous, friendly manner.
  • Completes special orders following all department protocols and procedures and ensuring accuracy
  • Maintains consistent & clear communication with both customers and co-workers
  • Provide assistance without ever diagnosing or offering medical advice to customers; remains professional yet sensitive towards health concerns
  • Goes the extra mile for customers and maintains the highest standards of courteous, professional customer service and sensitivity to customer’s needs
  • Displays consistency through reliable attendance, and remains flexible with scheduling
  • Attends all required meetings, trainings, seminars and workshops

Product Knowledge:

  • Stays passionate, educated and informed regarding new products and industry trends

Product Presentation and Quality:

  • Ensures orders are properly stocked
  • Ensures all product is neatly and accurately placed on shelves, allowing for proper facings according to shelf tags and signage
  • Continually organizes back stock to ensure all products lacking shelf space availability are organized and maintained
  • Receives vendor orders throughout the day, and addresses all order errors and damages immediately
  • Ensures all product has proper signage on the shelf; pulls out-of-date product; returns all damaged product for credit and records shrink in shrink log
  • Knowledgeable and aware of monthly sales as well as changing displays to ensure they are well maintained and stocked
  • Maintains cleanliness of shelving and the entire department, as needed

Maintenance and Conditioning:

  • Keep aisles clear at all times.
  • Leave counter clean and clear of clutter
  • Bulk herb area cleaned- jars straightened, scoops washed and shelves wiped down
  • Makes sure shelving and display areas are clean.
  • Keeps stock on shelves in clean orderly condition.
  • Returns equipment to appropriate location when not in use.
  • Ensures maintenance of department equipment in working order.
  • Advises manager of equipment repair or replacement need.
  • Removes trash and recycling promptly.
  • Report missing shelf tags to manager.

Safety:

  • Handle hazardous equipment (razors, knives ladders) carefully. Never leaves anything out where it could injure others.
  • Conscientious about proper lifting procedures.
  • Mindful of potential hazards to customers and other employees such as spilled and broken product, and takes actions to correct hazards.

Teamwork:

  • Conscientious about co-workers and works with the team for department efficiency.
  • Take phone messages and transcribe onto record answering questions in a timely manner. Leave machine clear for next shift.
  • Read staff log daily and attend staff meetings and trainings
  • Participates in quarterly inventory.

Accountability:

  • Accepts responsibility for personal decisions and actions. Exemplifies honesty, integrity and ethics.


Job Specific Functions:

  • Receive product accurately. Leave new and damaged items for manager to get credit on.
  • Leave invoices for Department Head in the box marked invoices in office.

Requirements

  • Familiar with vitamins and natural health products.
  • Self-management and an ability to remain calm under any stressful situation
  • Ability to communicate with various types of people in various ways (written, verbal, demonstration)
  • Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliability; regular and punctual attendance
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
