About the Department
The purpose of this classification is to perform specialized training on policies, development programs, and administrative and customer service functions related to billing and collecting taxes within the Tax Commissioner’s Office. This role is responsible for developing training programs and curriculum, designing course content and materials, and coordinating and scheduling training sessions.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This classification is reserved for those positions that are formally designated to serve in a lead capacity and provide guidance, direction, and training.

Position Duties
Leads and coordinates daily work activities of assigned co-workers; confers with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities; organizes tasks in order to complete assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; confers with co-workers; assists with complex/problem situations; provides technical expertise; training and instructing co-workers regarding operational procedures and proper use of equipment.
Provides customer service: assists customers; provides information and answers questions and concerns; investigates and resolves questions, issues, and technical problems related to department procedures; directs customers to the appropriate department or individual as necessary.
Analyzes, interprets, and evaluates information and other documentation, and monitors assigned inventory.
Utilizes the Driver Record and Integrated Vehicle Enterprise System (DRIVES) and maintains related documentation and files.
Utilizes various research tools and records from Superior Court, Water System, DRIVES, Elections and Registrations, Veterans Administration, IRS, Georgia Department of Roads, and LexisNexis.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by three years of experience in tax billing and collections.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in training or organizational development.
Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
Other Qualifications
Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
