This position is a job family; there are three levels.
Level I
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for assisting in the design, implementation and support of Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN & WAN), Intra/Internet connectivity and telecommunications. Researches technology trends as they apply to GECU's environment and provides recommendations for change. Participates in the development of policies and standards. Responsible for leading the efforts to ensure network stability, reliability, security, and integrity. Provides high level support to GECU users.
Responds to users’ needs via the Service Desk trouble ticket methodology.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Acts as a liaison between system users and IT support teams by diagnosing network-related technical issues, responding to questions, and addressing service requests. Collaborates with staff, end-users, supervisors, and management to identify network support needs for daily service requests and troubleshooting calls.
Evaluates the availability of patches and updates to existing software/hardware and coordinates with Network & Telecommunications Supervisor and the Network Security Analyst for implementation.
Provides preventive maintenance services and ensures technical documentation such as ticket logs, maintenance logs, troubleshooting tips knowledge base, are updated on a timely basis.
Provides continuous follow-up on issues to include communication of status to the users.
Serves as the second level of support for all users of GECU systems by providing phone consultation and remote diagnosis and troubleshooting.
At the direction of the Network & Telecommunications Supervisor, participates in the development of technical work instructions as technology changes are introduced. Contributes to the maintenance of the technical knowledge base.
At the direction of the Network & Telecommunications Supervisor, and under close supervision, participates in the research of new technical solutions.
Serves as a second line backup-support to the Service Desk as needed. When performing those roles; must complete all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Communicates with members, employees, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
Performs research into various questions and problems from various client areas.
Maintains PC and network equipment inventory.
Provides management with production reports as requested.
Creates and maintains a secure and trusting environment by not sharing confidential information.
Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.
