PROJECT MANAGER
Location: Madison, Wisconsin (Hybrid)
OBJECTIVE:
The Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within
budget. This role will oversee small to medium projects, as directed, or phases of a larger project. This
role has the responsibility for all aspects of the project over the entire project life (initiate, plan, execute,
control, close). The project manager must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well
as the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Effectively manage small/medium project teams’ time and allocate resources to ensure deliverables are completed via the standard PMO Framework. Coordinate and run meetings, publish meeting minutes. Monitor project performance.
2. Develop comprehensive project plan to monitor and track progress across projects, and to be shared with others as appropriate.
3. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
4. Provide status reports, change requests, and requirements documentation to ensure smooth project progression.
5. Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
6. Conduct project retrospect’s and create recommendation reports in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
7. Escalate issues and conflicts appropriately within and between various project teams.
8. Assist the Program Manager with the communication and education of project management standards and techniques to the appropriate staff.
9. Complies with federal, state and international legal requirements ensuring reports are adhering to legal regulations and protecting the company compliance by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls. Reports and escalates compliance violations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Required: 4 years of equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE
1-3 years prior project management experience serving an IT project/department/division
• Experience in a hybrid environment (both Agile and Waterfall)
• Strong communication and written skills
• Strong planning/organization skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to Influence others
• Knowledge of industry best practice quality standards
• Team player and results oriented
• Strong problem-solving skills
