As a member of the Client Service Operations Team, the Trader-Portfolio Management is responsible for executing trades (both electronic and manual), communicating directly with custodians for any information needed to resolve trading issues, generating quarterly trading statistic reports, and responding to Advisor and Portfolio Administrator requests. The Trader-Portfolio Management has a significant amount of direct Advisor and Portfolio Administrator contact. The Trader-Portfolio Management is always expected to be working to ensure a positive, collaborative team environment.

How you will contribute:

  • Perform daily trade execution and trade reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completion.
  • Execute trades in ETFs/equities, mutual funds, fixed income, thinly traded securities, and options. Execute risk trades when needed.
  • Communicate and coordinate trade requests with multiple separate account managers.
  • Support subscriptions, redemptions and servicing private investments.
  • Team closely with Advisors and Portfolio Administrators to answer all trade requests and questions in a timely manner
  • Update and maintain trading procedures and statistics.
  • Produce and maintain all SEC/Compliance reports.
  • Work well with and demonstrate respect for colleagues at all levels and consistently contribute to a positive work environment for the entire staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of capital markets, trading techniques (including block trade execution) and standard industry trading practices
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Schwab, Fidelity and Pershing platforms, Salesforce, and Black Diamond Rebalancer helpful

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • A self-starter who takes accountability for his/her work

Abilities:

  • Ability to set priorities among a variety of tasks and an occasionally heavy volume of work
  • Impeccable ability to maintain confidentiality
  • A team player who will mentor and coach others as well as thrive in a small company environment

Experience and Education:

We will consider any combination of experience and education which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. A typical way to acquire the requirements would be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or related field
  • Minimum of three years of trading experience working in financial services and/or investment management
  • Excellent personal and professional references

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Primarily sedentary work in an office with minimal distractions; walking throughout the office. Learn and memorize tasks; execute tasks independently; apply knowledge and use judgment to manage situations. Occasionally exert up to ten pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Perform repetitive motions, substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers for computer keyboard operation. Use near visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing documents, operating a computer, and reading. Speak and hear to communicate with team members and clients by phone and in-person.
