JOB SUMMARY
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking a Finish Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage and coordinate production activities associated with the Finish facility. Maintain and lead the security, safety, and general operation of the Finish facility and customer interface. Supervise directly or influence a variety of personnel (both direct and indirect) by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities to meet production requirements, organizational initiatives and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize and direct the finish operation within the Auburn North or Ballard facilities, which ensures the most effective return on assets while meeting customer production requirements.
- Ensure production output is compliant with customer and process specifications.
- Initiate and lead activities which minimize finishing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Follows operational strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Skills Inc. strategic initiatives.
- Optimize manpower utilization through a staffing plan, personnel allocation to shifts, and cross training.
- Continually improve safety culture and safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee attitudes toward safety and use of PPE.
- Monitor and maintain high standards for housekeeping in all areas to ensure safe and productive work areas.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and providing appropriate training for finish employees.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, conduct performance reviews, deliver corrective action, and delegate work assignments for personnel.
- Supervise disagreements / conflicts between employees and facilitates discussion or involves Human Resources, as appropriate.
- Promote clear and consistent communication and tie-ins with your counterparts on other shifts to assure product flow is maintained.
- Communicate all significant employee related issues to Human Resources and appropriate Director(s).
- Assist in the interpretation of specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for direct supervision of department employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge or experience working in an inclusive work environment, particularly those persons with disabilities.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the Finish industry.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory experience or shown motivation to learn on the job and willing to go to outside to seek training for supervision skills.
- Advanced computer literacy in Windows environment including MS Office experience.
- Strong leadership skills; Able to make independent decisions based on input.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Able to plan and request resources based on a production forecast.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
- Excellent at reading and interpreting Aerospace blue print documents.
- Attention to detail.
- Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
- Accepting of criticism and ability to deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations.
- Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Ability to identify, organize, estimate and recognize differences or similarities.
- Ability to provide direction and guidance.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology.

PREFERED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- Three (3) years of working experience in Aerospace Finish or manufacturing industries.

Salary Range: $32.00 - $40.00
