- Assists in planning as required
- Calibration and testing of transmitters, switches, converters, recorders, indicators, actuated valves, and control loops back to PLC or DCS systems.
- Builds Commissioning Folders and validates that they are adequate to complete all required pre-commissioning and commissioning checks and tests
- Verifies all test equipment is NIST Traceable and has a current calibration date
- Utilize industry standards for testing such as ISA or another recognized and approved standard
- Completes Blue lines, red lines and B check sheets
- Conducts jobs in accordance with relevant codes and site-specific procedures while following applicable safety procedures, specifically Energy Isolation Procedures and Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
- High School Diploma, or Equivalent
- 5 years of experience as Commissioning Technician or a combination of technical school and experience
- Current and valid Driver License
- North Slope Training Certification “NSTC” required
- Take and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Take and pass a Fit-for Duty Examination.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability and willingness, to receive and follow direction.
- Ability to clearly communicate (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work safely and recognize potential hazards.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle (within the requirements of our insurance carrier).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and electrical specifications
- Ability to diagnose system malfunctions, locate cause of breakdown and correct the problem or recommend solution
- Comprehensive knowledge of control systems, equipment, operational and mechanical systems including installation, test, maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge and experience use of power tools, testing equipment, measuring devices, power construction equipment.
- Knowledge of proper instrumentation equipment use conducive to conditions and assignments including adherence to Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations
- Skills in repairing/fixing instrumentation, wiring, control systems.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations
- Working knowledge of AC and DC control circuits
- An outright commitment to an honest, safe, quality work product is a must
- While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk, hear, and see.
- The incumbent frequently is required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance and walk.
- The incumbent is occasionally required to sit.
- The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Visual acuity must be adequate to perform all required Job Description tasks in a safe manner.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear plugs on occasion.
- Work is usually done outside at a job site/field site that may have inclement weather conditions.
- The incumbent is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
- The employee will be required to work and stay on site during the work rotation and must comply with all Company and Client policies.
