Adult Education Program Assistant bei Regional School Unit 40

Midcoast Adult & Community Education (“MACE”) is a public adult education program serving adults in the colaborative Regional School Unit 40 “Medomak” and Regional School Unit 12 “Sheepscot” communities. We serve 400 adult learners annualy inclusive of our Community Enrichment programming. We have one primary site but offer learning opportunities both remotely and throughout the schools in both districts.

Position ? Preparing for Colege as an Adult ? Resource & Career Navigation ? Workforce Preparation Job Goal: Support and manage adult learning through Midcoast Adult & Community Education. Key areas of adult education include high school completion, access to and preparation for post-secondary training or education, workforce development, multilingual language learning, and community enrichment classes. The adult education program assistant works closely with the director of adult education to deliver high quality educational services to adults in RSU 40 and RSU 12. The program assistant is compliant with federal and state Department of Education standards for adult education staff, and engages in continuous professional development to stay current in the field. 

Key Responsibilities
? Office Management
? Communication via phone and email
? Reception of public, adult learners, instructors, and school district staff and board members
? Invoice and payment processing
? Program recordkeeping ? Scheduling intakes, assessments, and classrooms 

High School Completion & College Transitions Program Support
? Proctoring official adult learner exams and assessments
? Technical support of teaching and learning in both in-person and virtual learning lab settings
? Maintain accurate learner records, including retention of learner transcripts
? Process transcript requests in a timely manner 

? Community Enrichment Program Support
? Online registration system, ActiveNet ? Register learners for classes, payment and processing  
? Coordinate with school secretaries in RSU 40 and RSU 12 for building access
? Communicate with enrichment instructors and learners
? Fal and spring brochure development and distribution
? Receive instructor invoices and preparing them for direct claim
? Support marketing efforts ? Attend Maine Adult Education-sponsored training and professioal

Maine DOE or as assigned by the Director of Adult Education
