Are you a detail-driven financial professional with a passion for precision and compliance? We’re seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Johnstown, PA. The Accounting Manager will lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee day-to-day accounting activities, implement robust financial controls, and ensure full adherence to internal policies and external regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Accountants and Accounting Clerk.
- Oversee daily accounting operations.
- Oversee month-end closing activities including coordination and review of other Finance team members’ work ensuring financial reporting is as accurate as possible.
- Ensure compliance with government accounting principles, regulations, FAR, CAS, and DCAA guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies .
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control systems to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting and compliance.
- Assist Director of Finance with budget preparation/continual monitoring.
- Assist Director of Finance with forecast preparation/continual monitoring.
- Assist Director of Finance with preparation of tax and insurance documentation.
- Analyzing various accounts for accuracy and making journal entries to correct as necessary (adherence to GAAP).
- Oversee accounting of fixed assets including coordinating RFA issuance and approval process; and completing accounting for fixed assets and the associated depreciation expense within ERP-LN.
NUMBER AND TITLES OF DIRECT REPORTS:
Accounts Payable Clerk, Senior Accountant, and Staff Accountant.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least eight (8) years of experience in financial support to firms in the Defense / Security Industrial base.
- Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience in financial management.
- Demonstrated expertise in interpretation and application of relevant GAAP principals and reporting standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; superior interpersonal abilities; must have the ability to get along with diverse personalities, be tactful, mature, and flexible; ability to manage a diverse group of people.
MINIMUM LEARNING TIME FOR THIS POSITION PROVIDED EMPLOYEE HAS NECESSARY EXPERIENCE:
- 3 months
OTHER POSITION CONSIDERATIONS:
- Required to work a flexible schedule that provides needed coverage for time-sensitive projects. Mission accomplishment takes precedence.
- Follow established confidentiality policy, safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Knowledge of financial software, internet/e-mail, presentation software, spreadsheet software, word processing software.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and government accounting regulations including FAR and CAS is a must.
- Knowledge of Infor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) LN.
- Knowledge of working within a SSA is a plus.
- Possess effective listening skills to ensure understanding of instructions and directions and effectively communicate progress and problems to co-workers and management.
- Ability to work effectively in a team oriented, high demand and fast paced environment.
- Travel, both domestic and international, is required; must possess valid Drivers’ license.
