As a member of the Community Services team provides skills building training, community living support and supported employment services for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness. Staff must possess computer, typing, grammar, punctuation, proofreading, transcription, phone proficiency and excellent communication and customer relations skills to effectively interact with staff, customers, business partners and community stakeholders. Additionally, the employee must have knowledge of supported employment principles, including IPOS or customized employment, exercise independent decision-making and work effectively in a team-based environment. Your office will be surrounded by nature, just miles from beaches, hiking trail. CWN is the publicly funded Community Mental Health Service Provider for Manistee and Benzie Counties. We’re an established company since the early 1980s (some might even call us vintage!) About the Role
- Participates and assists in the person-centered planning process for individuals.
- Implement skill building training, community living supports and supported employment services in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Acts as a resource for other staff that may find potential jobs and other income-generating opportunities in the community and ensures successful development of such jobs and activities. Coordinates work related transportation. Problem solves issues that arise pertaining to employment for persons served and ensures their successful employment.
- Coordinates the individual consumers’ pursuit of micro business entrepreneurships (supported self-employment). As needed, acts as the liaison with other entities in the community that provides entrepreneurial education and training for consumers.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with community employers to develop and retain employment opportunities aligned with each individual’s person-centered plan. Coordinates services with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MR) and other community resources.
- Collaborates directly with the Lead Supported Employment Specialist to initiate referrals and address any barriers or issues that arise

Requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Michigan’s driver’s license.
- Ability to be certified in First Aid and CPR within 90 days of hire (agency available training)
- Ability to successfully navigate a computer system with minimal support.

Work Environment:
CWN prioritizes work and life balance. Your supervisor will work with you to utilize flex time and paid time off. You will primarily work in the office with the following schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Between 8:00am and 5:00pm
You may be required to work hours outside of the regular schedule if assigned by your supervisor to meet clients’ needs. Light travel (<5% of time) may be required for job-related assignments, training or presentations.
