Cafeteria Food Service Coordinator Part-Time

Department: Elementary/Middle Education Location: Tampa, FL

Job Summary:
St. Peter Claver Catholic School is seeking a Part Time Cafeteria Food Service Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our school cafeteria under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating food service activities, ensuring food safety standards are met, managing inventory, and supervising cafeteria staff. This role also includes accurate daily meal counts and reporting requirements for the NSLP, as well as completion of all required training modules. We are looking for someone with a passion for serving students through healthy, nutritious meals that support their growth and learning.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food service management is a plus

  • Proven experience in food service and cafeteria operations

  • Knowledge of NSLP guidelines, food safety regulations, and procedures

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Commitment to completing required 3-day training and online training modules for the NSLP

  • Ability to go up and down stairs multiple times a day and perform other physical tasks related to food service operations

  • Dedication to promoting student well-being through healthy meal options and excellent service

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee daily food service operations in the cafeteria

  • Ensure compliance with NSLP guidelines, food safety regulations, and health standards

  • Accurately record and report daily meal counts in compliance with NSLP requirements

  • Manage inventory, place orders for food and supplies, and monitor stock levels

  • Train, schedule, and supervise cafeteria staff to maintain smooth operations

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized cafeteria environment

  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods

  • Provide excellent customer service by handling student and parent inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a professional manner

  • Serve as a role model in promoting healthy eating habits for students

  • Attend and complete all required NSLP training (3-day in-person training and online module training)
