It provides a unique opportunity for Unilever employees to gain direct exposure to venture capital investing while contributing to Unilever Ventures’ mission of building the next generation of consumer brands and technologies.The Role We are in an exciting phase of our development, scaling up our operations and looking to resource the team appropriately. We are seeking a highly motivated Unilever employee to join Unilever Ventures on a 12-month secondment from Q4 2025, covering a maternity leave in our investment team.The role will be based in London at Unilever Ventures’ offices in Mayfair. This is an entry-level investing role designed for an ambitious professional at the beginning of their career in venture capital. The Associate will work closely with Senior Associates, Principals, and Partners to support the entire investment process, developing the skills and judgment necessary to transition into a more autonomous role.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Deal Sourcing Support: Track emerging trends, map sectors, monitor industry news, and contribute to pipeline development; support senior colleagues in engaging with founders and networks. Research & Analysis: Conduct market research, competitor landscape analysis, and customer reference calls; prepare financial analyses and models to support investment cases. Due Diligence Assistance: Support execution of diligence processes by coordinating information requests, synthesising findings, and drafting initial materials for review by senior colleagues. Investment Materials: Draft sections of investment memoranda and presentations under guidance, ensuring accuracy and clarity of supporting data. Portfolio Support: Provide analytical and project support to portfolio companies (e.g. market analysis, KPI tracking, benchmarking); assist in coordinating introductions and firm resources. Internal Contribution: Take initiative in knowledge-sharing projects, research notes, and process improvements to support team efficiency and learning.This is a role for someone eager to learn the craft of venture investing through hands-on exposure. Over time, the Associate will be encouraged to take on greater ownership in sourcing and diligence.The CandidateThis opportunity is open to Unilever employees with strong commercial, strategic, or financial experience who are eager to broaden their exposure to venture capital. Relevant backgrounds may include brand management, finance, digital commerce, strategy, or M&A within Unilever.To succeed in this role, the candidate will need to have the following experience and skills: ­ A strong academic record from a leading university.­ You have 2-3 years of relevant experience, which could include: technology/startups, venture capital, investment banking, management consulting, or private equity. ­ You possess strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and a commercial instinct with sound judgment. Ability to identify the key value drivers of a business, knowing how to focus on the main points while maintaining attention to details; You are experienced in doing cashflow modelling and investment valuations.­ You are naturally curious and have a keen interest in consumer behaviour and trends; Demonstrated passion for the CPG and lifestyle industries, the disruption of the commerce landscape and the related emerging technologies.­ You are an enthusiastic self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision, can thrive in an unstructured environment with incomplete data, and lead and persuade others without formal line management authority. You have a natural inclination to overcome difficulties and devise alternative ways of making things happen.­ You are confident and positive, capable of easily interacting with senior management. You can build and maintain good relationships with people and communicate effectively at all levels (written, verbal and formal presentations)­ You are flexible and willing to get involved in various aspects of the business as needed.­ You will be an excellent fit for the team if you are a team player who wants to be part of an ambitious team with shared values.PackageThis position is offered as a 12-month secondment, commencing in Q4 2025.
