What we're looking for
DolarApp is redefining how Latin America manages its finances, and this is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping us on this mission. The mission of the role is to lead all legal & compliance efforts for our Wealth Management product, ensuring full regulatory compliance while maximizing user value. You will ensure the securing and maintenance of our regulatory licenses, including a U.S. investment advisor license, and ensuring adherence to SEC audits. Additionally, it will oversee compliance for Wealth Management operations in Mexico and Brazil, and contribute to evaluating a potential further U.S. licenses and partnerships to enhance our legal framework.
What you'll be doing
Be a strategic legal partner
Provide expert legal guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and financial services law.
Ensure our U.S. investment advisor license application meets all regulatory requirements, and coordinate with external consultants for SEC audits.
Oversee compliance efforts in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia ensuring alignment with local regulations.
Explore the feasibility of obtaining local licenses to strengthen our legal framework
Ensure regulatory compliance & risk mitigation
Design and implement compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to maintain adherence across business operations.
Conduct regulatory analysis to identify compliance requirements and collaborate with Product to integrate them seamlessly.
Manage regulatory reporting obligations and ensure accurate, timely submissions.
Serve as the primary liaison between DolarApp and regulatory bodies, keeping communication clear and proactive.
Support business growth while managing legal risk
Draft and review agreements, including entity contracts, user agreements, and provider partnerships.
Translate legal requirements into practical, actionable strategies that enhance the product and user experience.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Customer Support, Product, and Finance, to ensure compliance is embedded in all processes.
What you'll need
Law degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal role
Excellent verbal/written communication, business fluent in Spanish and English
Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
Skill in translating legal advice into actionable product strategies
Ability to collaborate with diverse teams across multiple business functions
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail
[Nice-to-Have] Familiarity with the investments regulatory environment in LatAm and United States
[Nice-to-Have] Experience working within the fintech or financial services industry
