Work Schedule: 5 days a week 8hrs per day; occasional weekend and evening work may be required.

Brief Description of Work:
The employee in this position will perform various maintenance duties on an extensive trail and greenway system in Greensboro. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: landscape maintenance, mowing, tree removal, trail maintenance, trash removal, sign installation, carpentry, concrete, and park maintenance. The selected employee will be operating various types of equipment such as: utility vehicles, mowers, tractors, compact skid-steers, chainsaw, weed eater, edger, blowers, and other handheld power tools. The employee in this position will also be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of boardwalks, footbridges, fencing, benches, and other assorted landscaping features.
The physical requirements of the job include stooping, kneeling, climbing, bending, standing and walking for long periods of time. The employee must be able to walk long distances carrying and performing strenuous work including lifting up to 50lbs and work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. The employee must also be able to work independently, have excellent customer service skills and follow verbal and written instructions. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required. The employee must have reliable means of contact (phone/cell) and transportation. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with less than 1 year of grounds maintenance/landscape and construction experience
- "OR" No High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of grounds maintenance/landscape and construction experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid Class A CDL Driver’s License (“OR” the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment)
- North Carolina Pesticide Applicator License ("OR" the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment))
- Experience operating various equipment such as chainsaws, mowers, and power tools
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- Chainsaw experience
- Carpentry experience
