We offer creators a variety of ways to engage with their fans and build a lasting business including: paid memberships, free memberships, community chats, live video, and selling to fans directly with one-time purchases.
Ultimately our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we're leaders in that space, with:
$10 billion+ in revenue generated since Patreon's inception
100 million+ free memberships for fans who may not be ready to pay just yet, and
25 million+ paid memberships on Patreon today.
We're continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator platform with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for a Strategy Lead to support our mission.
This role is based in San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.
About the Team
Patreon’s Strategy team drives decision-making on the company’s most important priorities. We tackle business-critical problems, shape initiatives that move the company forward, and make sure our growth levers, investments, and opportunities are clearly understood and acted upon.
We translate data into insights, insights into strategy, and strategy into action — partnering closely with the COO and teams across the business to turn ideas into measurable impact.
We’re a small, high-impact team known for our curiosity, clarity, and collaboration. Joining us means exposure to the full breadth of Patreon’s business and the opportunity to help shape its next phase of growth.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
Shape company-wide decision-making by leading strategic analyses and contributing to recurring forums such as All Hands, Business Reviews, planning, competitive intelligence, and board/investor updates.
Analyze complex business problems to generate insights and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
Communicate insights and recommendations through clear, compelling materials tailored to audiences ranging from cross-functional partners to the executive team.
Drive execution and continuous improvement by building processes, coordinating resources, and enhancing systems and ways of working across the company.
Grow your skillset by gaining exposure to company-wide strategy while sharpening your analytics, communication, and operations capabilities.
About You
Strategy Experience: You have spent 5+ years helping companies make great strategic decisions, partially in a consulting role. You’re energized by untangling complex problems, excel at asking the right questions, and love turning analysis into real-world impact.
Critical Thinking: You ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and use first-principles thinking to break down problems. You connect the dots across different inputs and craft well-reasoned, structured recommendations. You strike the right balance between speed and accuracy.
Analytical Skills: You are data-oriented and curious, uncovering insights others might miss. You work comfortably with quantitative and qualitative data and consistently identify and close gaps in understanding.
Collaboration: Relationship-building is one of your superpowers. You thrive in cross-functional settings and have a track record of influencing stakeholders across technical and business teams, including Data Science, Research, Sales, Marketing, and Product.
Storytelling: You are an expert communicator with a love for clarity. You distill complexity into compelling narratives, tailoring insights to your audience and using frameworks and storytelling to drive clarity and alignment.
Execution: You are a systems thinker who connects strategy to execution. You notice when processes aren’t working and get energy from creating solutions that make them better.
Leadership: You thrive in ambiguity and are intrinsically motivated to drive better outcomes for the business. You show up as a trusted partner to your manager and cross-functional partners, taking initiative to move things forward.

The posted salary range is dependent on the location and the level. This range may encompass multiple levels within the role’s job family.
