Job Description/Responsibilities

VP Brand Portfolio will manage Sazerac’s portfolio of brands to develop strong consumer connection plans, brand fundamentals and strategies that will grow Sazerac’s trial & depletion growth globally. VP Brand Portfolio will deeply own individual brand plans and broad portfolio view to identify gaps and opportunities for Sazerac across marketing, innovation & tactical planning. Responsible for building a team of brand building leaders that effectively plan, deliver breakthrough creativity for the brands and collaborate multifunctionally.

 

  • Provide the proper focus, prioritization and resources to execute the category bets/ideas that deliver double digit annual growth. Develop annual budget for US and global markets: lead the creation of marketing plans, pricing strategy, channel tactics and consumer communication plans to reach brand objectives. Manage KPIs and accountability closely. Establish a cadence of performance reviews to insure execution and to course correct when required.
  • Functional leader in identifying strengths and opportunities across the Sazerac portfolio of brands. Set the agenda for a focus on solving problems for consumers and customers. Lead the research and exploitation of global category opportunities. Cultivate people, processes and systems that connect Sazerac brands to consumers. Delight consumers and build raving fans.
  • Prioritize category time & resources against brand country/state priorities most critical to achieving current and long term brand contribution objectives. Lead marketing efforts with sales team to ensure that country/state strategies & tactics are delivering volume, profit and KPI targets. Course correct on any key market/brand combinations that are behind the curve.
  • Lead the category development of strategic brand plans. Implement the Sazerac way of brand building for key brands. 
  • Use PDS to self evaluate and develop self. Use PDS as tool to conduct optimal performance discussions, articulate consistent skill evaluations, recommend actions and tactics, and measure progress. Drive greater PDS leverage across the marketing team to improve overall engagement and development.
  • Develop and lead all brand plans for Sazerac’s portfolio to deliver fiscal year growth. Stretch thinking to challenge norms, disrupt ourselves and grow faster on key brands. Motivate team to deliver on-time and with excellence to achieve goals.
  • Partner with Demand VP to continue to step-change effectiveness and efficiency of internal agency and external agencies. Create compelling briefs and plans that inspire the best creative possible across brands. Be one step ahead of issues with creative planning and ready to react with set of tools to drive demand.
  • Manage project work flow and accountability through PPT – this is critical in an environment where there are multiple disciplines in the team.
  • Develop a succession plan for the functional team. Build a two deep bench for critical leadership roles. Develop and retain key successors in the organization. Personally connect and coach high potential talent.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience leading the development and execution of commercial strategies
  • 5+ years’ experience managing scale brands - full P & L
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
