In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

The Department of Composition, Contemporary Music, and Core Studies oversees all activities and curriculum for students majoring in Composition and Contemporary Classical Music Performance, as well all courses within Core Studies (music theory and music history/ethnomusicology).The CCMCS Department Student Assistant may be responsible for the following:
Managing submission of Composers Recital Series program information and performance needs, distributing information and creating programs
Submitting departmental Smartsheet requests
Submitting contract requests for guest artists
Updating and helping to maintain the departmental shared Google Calendar
Building and maintaining a database of external concerts, events, and opportunities
Managing (unofficial) departmental social media, primarily to share information about upcoming events
Assisting with guest artists as needed
Building out systems and templates for various department functions (jury folders, etc.)
Coordinate with Chair and Assistant Chair of Composition at BCM to identify events that could include students from both departments (guest artists, etc); and communicate with students
Other duties as needed
Necessary and Desired Skills
A strong candidate will have the following skills:
Strong facility with Google Workplace tools (Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc)
Strong written communication skills (emails)
Ability to sort and collate data and information
Ability to see projects through to completion on a deadline
The position is largely remote and asynchronous, with occasional synchronous work as needed, subject to the student’s schedule and availability. The position is anticipated at 20 hours a week. A successful candidate is communicative, independent, and resourceful with shared office systems (Google Suite in particular, as well as Smartsheets and 25Live!).
