PositionOverview:
The Director of Inpatient Physician Services, Pediatrics, and Geriatrics, under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, establishes the scope and philosophy of the Inpatient and Outpatient Physician Programs; plans, coordinates, directs and monitors the Inpatient Physician Program’s services and programs primarily as they pertain coordination and determining the appropriate level of care. The Director; assures compliance with the patient care standards set forth by the community, Singing River policy, Medical Staff and State Regulations, JCAHO and other accrediting entities; and participates in the interdepartmental Performance Improvement activities. The Director works closely and cooperatively with the physicians on the Medical Staffs of Singing River Gulfport, Ocean Springs, and Pascagoula Hospitals; acts as liaison between Administration, physicians, primary care providers, ancillaries, patients and staff to assure smooth operations; implements department policies and procedures, schedules, budgets, financial and staffing plans; demonstrates a thorough knowledge of procedure codes, modes of billing and collection; maintains a professional image and demonstrates impeccable honesty and integrity in the confidentiality of patient and physician information and hospital matters; and is an excellent problem solver who contributes as an integral team player and encourages peers and subordinates in their attaining optimum job performance.
