LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer.


Location: Gown Field, Boise, Idaho



Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per two weeks (with flexibility during drill weekends and annual training periods)


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join the 124th Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS) Human Performance Optimization (HPO) program. This position supports elite Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) and Special Warfare Airmen as “tactical athletes,” providing Olympic-level care in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and human performance enhancement. The ATC will deliver world-class support to ensure mission readiness and long-term health of service members.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive injury prevention, assessment, acute care, and rehabilitation services.
  • Provide pre-habilitation programs and individualized performance training plans tailored to unit mission requirements. 
  • Conduct new member assessments, fitness evaluations, and ongoing human performance programming.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and unit leadership to ensure seamless care.
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical documentation, workload data, and performance metrics.
  • Provide individualized and group training programs, including strength, conditioning, speed, agility, flexibility, and balance training.
  • Advise commanders on injury prevention, rehabilitation strategies, and program improvement.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly coordination meetings and deliver required reports.
  • Support members with fly-away/remote training programs for deployment or offsite training.
  • Track and report Human Performance metrics, including musculoskeletal health, mission readiness, and training compliance.
  • Ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and contribute to a safe training environment.
  • Maintain professional continuing education requirements and attend required training and conferences.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Education & Certification
    • Master’s degree in Athletic Training (required; no substitutions).
    • Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Idaho (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
    • Certification through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
    • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (preferred; must obtain within first year of employment).
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  •  Experience
    • Minimum 4 years of demonstrated experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
    • Experience working with elite, professional, or tactical athletes required.
    • Familiarity with pre-habilitation, rehabilitation, and sports medicine best practices.
    • Experience in strength and conditioning program design is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance training principles.
    • Ability to work in austere environments, observe training evolutions, and assist with testing protocols.
    • Excellent communication and briefing skills with military leadership and medical providers.
    • Proficiency with data collection, analysis, and outcome reporting.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA standards, military medical documentation, and performance tracking software.
    • Ability to lift and manipulate weights up to 55 pounds.
