Overview & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Data Analytics manager will be responsible for developing processes for efficient reporting and analytics across the enterprise. In this role, the Data Analytics Manager will be gathering requirements, work very closely with the business, create mockups, and build reports, dashboards, including predictive and perspective analytics. Will provide guidance to the data analysts and visualization engineers. Will partake in scheduling, planning and prioritization. Translate complex business solutions into user friendly dashboards.

BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor’s but prefer a Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Analytics.

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years hands on experience in Analytics and dash boarding, with some experience in leading and managing others directly or indirectly.

  • Technical Skills: Well versed in one or more of the visualization tools like Tableau and/or Power BI. Experience with SQL queries a must, with excellent understanding of database modeling and design. 

  • Business skills: Be able to understand business problems and envision a solution that addresses the business problems with the help of data. Define algorithms with the business owners for deriving analytics. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

  • Understand and gather business requirements. Provide mockups for dashboards.

  • Generate reports and dashboards using Tableau or Power BI for all departments including Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Finance etc. across all global locations.

  • Define and collaborate with end-users on algorithms needed for predictive and prescriptive analytics.

  • Provide training on usage of the analytics produced.

  • Manage and provide direction to the Data analysts as well as the Visualization engineer.

  • Write complex queries and design models required for analytics.

  • Document requirements, propose solutions and collaborate with business users to finalize the design.

  • Provide regular status updates on progress of work while prioritizing the work with the business owners.

  • Define processes needed for data collection and maintenance, with focus on data quality.

  • Provide reports on data quality and its improvements.

  • Empower users with self service capabilities and train super users.

  • Administer and govern the software licenses and troubleshoot issues.

  • Work with business to test the data and analyze discrepancies.

  • Should be able to quickly adopt to changes across the organization.
