Nursery Bank Practitioner
Job description

Little Elms is a family run business where people really matter, feel valued and have a voice. Whilst all of our nurseries provide exceptional levels of quality care and education, they are all completely unique! Our Bromley nursery are looking for Nursery Assistants and Nursery Practitioners to work as bank staff covering shifts working on a zero hours contract.

The ideal candidate must have:
  • A full & relevant Level 2 or above qualification in Early Years
  • Experience working in a nursery
  • An interest in working with young children (from 0-5 years)
  • Team player
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to use initiative
  • A passion for the Early Years

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all areas of the EYFS and Statutory Framework are met at all times.
  • Ensuring Safeguarding/Child Protection Policies and Procedures are implemented.
  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children, taking children’s individual needs into
  • consideration.
  • Ensuring the nursery offers an environment which reflects the cultural diversity of all children.
  • Follow Observation, Planning and Assessment Framework within the Little Elms Group.
  • Reflect on daily practise and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with parents.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to use own initiative, always prioritising the needs of the children.
  •  Interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build effective relationships with staff and parents.
  • Ability to cope with change in a fast paced environment is essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with ever changing priorities is essential.
  • A kind, caring and nurturing individual who acts as a positive role model for children.
