Sustainability Administrator - Ethical Sourcing

11 Month FTC

Up to £29,000 + Pension + BUPA + ShareSave + 6.6 weeks holiday + Hybrid Working

At B&Q we have a hybrid approach to working to increase flexibility in when and where we work. For this role we are looking for someone to be able to work from our head office 3 days a week.

What's the job?:

As A Sustainability Administrator you will be responsible for providing key admin support for the Sustainability team, particularly focusing on vendor and product on-boarding with regards to B&Qs ethical sourcing requirements. You will also be responsible for Providing support to vendors to help maintain compliance against our ethical sourcing policies and continuous improvement programmes. Also, supporting the Ethical Sourcing team to improve B&Qs Human Rights Due Diligence programme will be another area of your focus. 

 

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

 

· Maintain vendor, supplier and product information on relevant platforms and systems.

· Manage ethical sourcing workflow tasks, tracking from creation to completion through relevant

processes.

· Liaising with vendors – helping onboard new vendors and products by ensuring suppliers possess the

information needed.

· Liaising with the Commercial Category Team to progress approval of new vendors and products to

B&Q

· Assist in updating factory and compliance information on team trackers

· Assist with the routine review and validation of vendor/product status.

· Screen manufacturing site ethical compliance data to determine if it meets basic policy and regulatory

requirements.

· Escalate issue of potential vendor/product non-conformance to appropriate team members.

· Provide administrative support relating to any review and auditing programmes

· Assist in delivering corrective actions identified by audits.

· Support general administration across the sustainability team.

· Provide support for meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, maintaining action logs,

meeting notes or minutes and distributing materials.

· Where required, contribute to activities within the wider team to support in delivering its objectives effectively on time.

What we need::
  • Required Skills & Experience:
  • Keen interest and/or experience in sustainability/ ethical sourcing.
  • Administration, and data management skills and experience.
  • Computer literate: MS Office in particular Excel
  • Ability to learn new IT systems and data platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive self-starter.
