The team

Our main premises at Hady Hill is housed in a converted chapel and is a characterful building with some original features. At the beginning of 2020 a full renovation of the premises was completed (check out our 360* video walk through on our website, www.chapelhousevet.co.uk) making it a brighter, modern workspace with top of the range equipment and facilities.

Our branch surgery in the neighbouring area of Staveley was opened in 2014, these premises were previously a doctor’s surgery and provide two floors of modern and spacious facilities.

Both practices have all the equipment you would expect in general practice including digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, tonometer, video otoscope, rigid endoscopy, capnographs, doppler, multiparameter patient monitoring devices and ultrasound.

We are RCVS PSS accredited to GP level at both sites and both hold ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic status with our Hady site also holding Dog’s Trust Dog Friendly Clinic status. We have also recently attained an Investors in the Environment award at Bronze level, and continuously strive to reduce our environmental impact through measures such as our low flow anaesthesia campaign.

Our practice is an RCVS Approved Graduate Development Practice and an RVN training centre affiliated with Nottingham Trent University.

We have a fantastic team of 14 RVNs who are highly competent, friendly and supportive, including certificate holders in Physiotherapy, Dermatology and ECC.

We have a team of 11.5 vets with varied interests and experience, including certificate holders in Dermatology, ECC and internal medicine, and other vets undertaking further study in the areas of imaging, internal medicine and surgery.

We aim to maintain an open and collaborative working atmosphere, encouraging team members at all levels to contribute ideas and ask questions. We operate a no-blame culture.

Outside of work our team regularly socialise together, at practice events and privately organised ones, including pub trips, sports days, dog walks, weddings, birthdays, and baby showers. This comes through into our working environment - we work hard, but we have fun too. We eat a lot of cake and make a fuss of birthdays and special occasions because we genuinely care about the milestones in the lives of our team members.
