JOB PURPOSE

The National Sales Trainer plays a key role in supporting Canadian key accounts and creating and delivering high-impact training across Canada. This role is responsible for designing and delivering engaging product and sales training that reinforces Mevotech’s brand, showcases our product quality and innovation, and identifies opportunities to grow customer engagement and sales.

In addition to facilitating training, the Sales Trainer provides technical support and guidance to customers and service technicians, helping troubleshoot complex repairs and parts issues.
This role stays current with evolving industry standards and technologies, contributes to business growth, and strengthens customer relationships. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical knowledge, training expertise, and market insight to elevate customer experience and drive brand loyalty.
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs for clients and employees using multimedia tools, live demonstrations, and workshop activities to ensure effective learning.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive training materials, manuals and presentation decks.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers and service technicians, offering advice on complex repairs or system failures and resolving issues promptly.
  • Identify indirect sales opportunities during customer interactions and work to convert into successful sales.
  • Collaborate with sales and support teams to streamline processes and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current with automotive advancements, diagnostic tools, new vehicle technologies, and repair procedures.
  • Build and enhance relationships with customer accounts and their staff.
  • Schedule and plan customer visits, prioritizing service based on the level of need and urgency
  • Collect market intelligence, identify growth opportunities and share with the Engineering team
  • Improve transparency within the business on product related issues
  • Maintain the highest level of professional conduct, integrity and credibility
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Post-Secondary Education (preferred)
  • 10+ years of previous industry experience working in automotive aftermarket, heavy duty equipment, or OEM
  • Proven experience as a technical trainer within the automotive industry
  • Previous experience in providing technical support to customers/customer service
  • Previous experience as an automotive technician or installer (a strong asset)
  • Ability to build strong business partnerships both outside, and within the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Valid Driver’s license and ability to travel 70% of the time
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Approximately 70% travel required across Canada.
