The Customer Engagement  and Logistics (CE&L) is responsible to drive the implementation of the Customer Engagement Supply Chain strategy within the  Country, with focus on collaborative  end-to-end Supply Chain initiatives fostering growth and profitability with  the Customers.

He/She works in close partnership with the local CDTs being part of it, taking care of the market a Customers (or a group of Customers according local Channels and other segmentation criteria) to understand Customers’ needs and develop Supply Chain and Logistics solutions that deliver against expectations, target KPIs and sustainable profitability. 

He/She actively establishes relationships with local Industry/Logistic organizations to gain external insights and stay abreast of the logistic practices and  standards evolution of the FMCG(*) industry.

The CE&L serves as the liaison among  CBS O2I/Logistic Management , KCM’s  and  Demand Planning/Fulfillment  team to communicate potential system issues, requests  driven by Customer determining  need for internal process/system set-up changes, both short and long term. The CE&L also facilitates the efficient implementation of EDI systems (where appropriate or planned) with Customers ensuring coordination on the business aspects from the project brief till the go-live.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyses performance metrics (KPI’s) to understand service and efficiency trends and identifies opportunities for improvement with Customers based on the Customer Segmentation Strategy. Shares KPI’s with the CDTs and Customers to develop collaborative approaches to correct inefficient behaviors or fix system disconnects/failures
    - Works with cross-functional CD teams to eliminate root causes of customer supply chain inefficiencies and Out of Stocks (OOS) positions in Customer assortment
    - Builds and aligns with Local Commercial leadership on the appropriate Customer Segmentation Strategy and enforces Supply Chain Terms & Conditions with the Customer(s), in close collaboration with the CDT’s
    - Educates the CDT’s on Supply Chain capabilities and constraints that impact effective delivery of product to the Customer and  SKU portfolio assortment 
    - Addresses special customer needs and expectations around product and shipping unit  packaging, logistic distribution and information requirement calling upon the appropriate Supply Chain and Demand Chain resources to develop/offer the most cost effective solutions. Portugal needs special focus in Pingo Doce, Sonae & Auchan
    - Effectively coordinate overall data flow communication and processes with Customers, for example when launching new and/or transitioning SKU’s to ensure synchronization with customer databases. Coordinate for the business the implementation of  EDI system and procedures between CP and Customers
    - Align and Support Implementation on value added services such as Collaborative Planning, On-Shelf Availability, Efficient Replenishment, Data Synchronization, EDI, VMI, etc. with Customers
    - Collaborate with customers to identify  and execute process  improvements to maximize on-shelf availability and decrease costs.
    - Leverages POS data to drive On-Shelf Availability or organizes routine on-shelf availability audits, to develop improvement plans with the customer(s)Review system for and Identifies opportunities to optimize “Cost to Serve” and customer Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ), in close relationship with CDT Finance Manager
    - Leverages information from the customer, as well as Colgate internal sources and 3PL data to generate a customer specific supply chain plan that is consistent with Customer Engagement strategy and capabilities.

    Minimum Requirements:
  • Level of Education: Business degree (i.e. Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Administration)  (preferred Bachelor degree) 
    Years of Experience (range): 2-3 years Business Unit Demand Planning, Warehouse and Logistic management with operational experience in managing projects/ and or Experience in sales on field commercial planning / Commercial Finance.
  • Technical Skills: Proven good  communication skills ( internal and external, all levels )
    SAP4H /BW  experience, Advanced Excel, general knowledge of GDSN/EDI  processes and standards. Google Suite applications
  • Languages: Native Portuguese and Fluent English. Spanish is a plus.
