SEMI is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage key aspects of finance operations. In this role, you will process employee reimbursements, vendor payments, and other financial transactions accurately and on time. You will also play a critical role in streamlining processes and implementing new technology, including Tipalti for AP and Navan for travel and expense management. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to learn global finance operations, work with modern systems, and collaborate across teams. As part of a team rebuild, you will help enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting across the organization.


This is a full-time position which reports to the Account Manager and is based in Milpitas, CA


Key Responsibilities

Travel & Expense (T&E) Management

  • Process employee travel and expense reports accurately and in compliance with SEMI policy.
  • Use Navan for travel bookings and expense submissions.
  • Review receipts and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with T&E reporting and month-end close activities.

Accounts Payable (AP) Management

  • Process vendor invoices in Tipalti and NetSuite, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
  • Reconcile AP accounts and track unpaid bills.
  • Maintain AP aging reports and support payments according to schedule.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal teams.
  • Support month-end close and provide documentation for audits.

Cross-Functional Support & Compliance

  • Collaborate with colleagues across HQ, SEMI Foundation, and international offices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with testing, documentation, and training for Tipalti and Navan implementations.


Qualifications & Skills

  • 2–5 years of accounting or finance experience, with a focus on AP and T&E preferred.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial controls.
  • Experience with ERP and payment platforms (NetSuite, Tipalti, Navan) preferred.
  • Prior experience in multi-entity or global finance operations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with employees, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
