Guides safety assistants in the performance of their duties to ensure driver orientation is facilitated effectively and that driver qualification files are processed efficiently.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Performs supervisory responsibilities, as needed, to effectively manage personnel including training, coaching, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
* Provides assistance, leadership, and training to safety assistants and serves as point of contact for questions from other departments throughout the organization.
* Ensures team members communicate effectively and provide quality customer service to assist drivers throughout the qualifying process.
* Resolves escalated orientation and driver qualification issues.
* Reviews system entries, provides coaching, and reports patterns of deficiencies to management as necessary.
* Maintains, monitors, and audits driver personnel files in accordance with federal and state guidelines and company policies.
* Conducts internal audit of driver qualification
* Functions in the role of safety assistant as needed and provides additional leadership and support during off-hours work shifts.
* Recommends changes as necessary to department policies, practices, and training.
* Establishes and maintains positive working relationships.
* Travels as needed.
* Receives and carries out instructions.
* Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
