Join our Sibley Nursing Team as a Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator in the ICU!
A new, ultramodern intensive care unit (ICU) opened at Sibley Memorial Hospital on Oct. 4, 2023, on the second floor of the main patient tower. The ICU team specializes in the management of adult and geriatric medical and surgical patients who have or are at high risk for a variety of life-threatening conditions.
The RN Clinical Coordinator ICU provides expert patient care and leadership, ensuring safe, efficient, and evidence-based practice. This role manages patient flow, supports staff development, leads process improvements, and serves as a clinical resource to uphold care standards. Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, the coordinator fosters engagement, professional growth, and operational excellence while guiding daily operations and acting as a liaison across departments. The job duties, schedule, and responsibilities may change from time to time based on SMH’s needs/requirements or as directed by the Department Head or Administrator of this institution.

Unit/Schedule:
- Intensive Care Unit: 14-bed unit with capacity to expand to 18 beds
- 12-hour shifts
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
- Graduation from an accredited program for Registered Nurses
- BSN required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department and/or ICU.
- Minimum of 1 year leadership or project coordination experience preferred.
- Must maintain current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS and any certifications required to provide clinical care in ED/ICU.
- National certification in emergency or critical care nursing or nursing leadership preferred.
