Your Role

 

The Behavioral Health Network Management team plays a crucial role in Blue Shield of California’s (BSC) mission. We are responsible for developing and maintaining all behavioral health provider networks. Our goal is to nurture positive relationships that are essential for offering our members and clients access to high-quality, affordable health care services. Within this team, the Program Manager, Principal holds a key position, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Behavioral Health Contracting. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support BSC’s Behavioral Health Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) network. This is a vital function that ensures we continue to meet the needs of our members and uphold the standards of care we are committed to providing.

Responsibilities

Your Work

 

In this role, you will:

  • Operate at a strategic business level to ensure projects/programs are in line with BSC strategic goals  
  • Consult with all levels including senior management, make recommendations, and influence decision-making
  • Leverage cross-functional internal and external relationships to drive initiatives forward 
  • Plan and implement multiple and extremely complex projects/programs spanning across business areas
  • Determine key business issues, develop effective action plans and implement to successful conclusion
  • Manage project initiatives from initiation through delivery, and oversight of continuous improvement 

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Requires a college degree or equivalent experience

  • Requires 10 years of prior relevant experience

  • Experience in Managed Care is preferred

  • Behavioral Health Clinical License (i.e. PhD, MFT, LCSW) is preferred

  • Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is preferred

  • Experience with Policy & Procedure development and auditing is preferred

  • Experience with evaluations, development, and implementation of clinical programs and processes is preferred

  • Experience evaluating workflows, efficiencies, and best practices to determine program and process specifications balancing contractual and clinical considerations is preferred

  • Experience with establishing and maintaining strong, collaborative working relationships with various cross functional partners is preferred

  • Hybrid (Default): Work from a business unit-approved office at least two (2) times per month (for roles below Director-level) or once per week (for Director-level roles and above). Exceptions:

o   Member-facing and approved out-of-state roles remain remote.

o   Employees living more than 50 miles from their assigned offices are expected to work with their managers on a plan for periodic office visits.

o   For employees with medical conditions that may impact their ability to work in-office, we are committed to engaging in an interactive process and providing reasonable accommodations to ensure their work environment is conducive to their success and well-being.

  • On-Site: Work from a business unit-approved office an average of four (4) or more days a week.

Physical Requirements:

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
