- Are you a self-motivated individual with a high level of technical aptitude, able to trace & diagnose equipment problems?

If this sounds like you, WE NEED YOU and would like to speak with you about joining our team!
USM ReRents (a division of US Markets, Inc.) is the leader in the re-rental of aerial construction lifts across the United States and Canada. Our equipment includes large boom lifts, heavy-capacity telescoping material handlers, and spider/crawler lifts.
Rental demand for quality construction equipment spurs our active search for a shop mechanic to repair and perform preventive maintenance on (USM-owned) boom lifts, telehandlers and spider lifts so that these assets can be returned to our rental fleet (to be again rented out by equipment yards throughout the South Central US).
Role & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Equipment Mechanic diagnoses, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on articulating booms, ultra booms, spider lifts, and heavy-capacity & rotational telehandlers so that these assets may quickly be back in rental utilization.

- Perform service, repairs, and preventive maintenance as required
- Perform hydraulic, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; run related diagnostics; rebuild hydraulic cylinders, replace worn/damaged parts and fluids
- Create accurate repair lists with assistance of a Fleet Service Specialist
- Perform (ANSI-required) annual inspections on man lifts.
Requirements:
- 6+ years' mechanic/repair experience
- 3+ years' aerial work platform equipment experience (on boom lifts, ultra-booms, telehandlers, and even spider lifts)
- An intermediate-to-advanced level of hydraulic & mechanical & electrical troubleshooting; a solid understanding of gas & diesel engines and electric motors
- A valid drivers’ license (and a good driving record)
- A good work ethic and a positive attitude
- A willingness to learn, to grow your skills, and to apply technical training concepts to real-world equipment needs
- Demonstrated abilities to professionally work & communicate with and update others
- The abilities to produce quality workmanship and to work in a safe manner
- The computer skills to effectively enter & transmit data; to open, read & respond to e-mail.
Preferred candidates will possess:
- Construction equipment repair (or rental) industry experience
- Knowledge of aerial construction equipment, and units' application and safe use
- Previous factory/manufacturer training and/or certification
- Communication skills – the ability to positively interact with, update and partner with your Fleet Service Manager
- A commercial driver’s license is helpful
You will be required to complete online training where available. You may assist with the purchasing of parts and with creating related purchase orders.
Wage range from $34 - $39 per hour, dependent upon qualifications. Compensation will be commensurate with specifically-related experience. The person selected for the job offer will receive a reference check, criminal background check and drug screening prior to the first day of employment. Grow your career with USM!
