We are seeking a highly motivated Hardware PCIe Engineer for Pure’s Datastore team. Pure builds the industry’s most innovative, high-performance, energy-efficient and TCO-optimised storage solution. As part of this team, you will help productize this differentiated storage solution for our customers.
SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
- Own and drive the electrical design of PCIe interfaces for SSD products.
- Lead validation and debug efforts for PCIe Gen5 and Gen6 devices.
- Conduct signal integrity (SI) simulations to ensure robust PCIe performance.
- Collaborate with external partners on high speed interface simulation, validation, and compliance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues in partnership with internal teams, external vendors, and JDMs.
- Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations to support field issues and customer escalations.
- Leverage automation and AI to improve SSD design and validation workflows.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- Over 5 years in hardware design and development, covering schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection.
- BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related field).
- Proven track record in high-speed electrical design, PCIe fundamentals, and PCIe debug.
- Experience with PCIe Gen5/Gen6 devices.
- Proficient with PCIe test equipment including high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, BERTs, VNAs, and TDR.
- Experience with PCIe compliance testing (SIG) for SSD products.
- Knowledgeable in SI simulation tools and methodologies (e.g., HFSS, ADS).
- Strong background in validating hardware at electrical, SI, protocol, and functional levels.
- Proficient in scripting with Python, BASH, and similar languages.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, process-driven, and customer-focused.
- Thrive in fast-paced, evolving business environments.
- Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the {{OFFICE_LOCATION}} office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
