Chaplain - Grand Junction

Find your life’s work at HopeWest as a Chaplain supporting our patients and families. You will be part of an interdisciplinary care team of social workers, nurses, physicians, and certified nursing assistants all working together to improve people’s everyday lives when they need help the most. You will provide spiritual support to patients and their families that honors the goals and wishes of each person during this transitional time.

The Chaplain: 

1. Provides spiritual support to patients and their families, life review, life resolution, connects them to spiritual care resources in the community and provides prayer as desired by the patient/family.
2. Responsible for developing relationships with community clergy and for connecting patients and families back to their churches and pastors as needed. 
3. Assist patients and/or families with funeral planning and conducting funerals and are responsible for planning and conducting hospice memorial services.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• One year of related chaplain/pastoral experience.
• All Chaplains must have, or complete within 3 years of their date of hire 2 units of CPE training. 
• Valid Colorado driver’s license and unlimited access to reliable transportation.
• Maintains adequate automobile insurance.
• Ability to set priorities and follow through.
• Able to participate in the on-call, holiday, weekend and after-hours programs.
• Effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal

COMPENSATION 

• $22.48-$27.37/hour
• Premium pay for Masters Degree in Divinity or Religious Studies and bilingual fluency
• Mileage reimbursement for travel during patient visits
• Cell phone and other technology provided such as laptop/tablet for documentation.
