We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a GIS Expert to join our Capital and Commercial Services team. In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the development and management of our Geographical Information System (GIS), setting the standards, processes, and culture that drive innovation and excellence. 

You’ll collaborate with internal teams and contractors and play a key role in building, deploying, and maintaining digital products and services. Every day will bring new challenges as you contribute to our broader Digital Twin strategy, helping us transform how we deliver infrastructure projects. 

Location: This role can be based at any of our capital hubs: Derby, or Coventry. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Act as the GIS capital and commercial subject matter expert, interfacing with project teams and stakeholders. 

• Create and own GIS strategy for Capital and Commercial part of the business. 

• Champion the correct use of GIS tools. 

• Collaborate with the extended supply chain – define GIS requirements, assess capabilities, and ensure safe, timely data sharing. 

• Lead the As-laid procedure – refine and develop workflows and documentation. 

• Integrate data from Land & Planning, Surveys, Ground Investigations, and Permits into the GIS system for seamless spatial coordination. 

• Ensure compliance with Severn Trent Water standards across all GIS processes. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

Experience in integrating GIS and Building Information Modelling, specifically Autodesk environment would be advantageous. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaboratively develop digitally enabled solutions that adds value in terms of HSSE, Quality, risk, schedule and cost. 

Having exposure to change management or implementing change would be beneficial.
